Men & Women
Who are the United Methodist Women (UMW)? They are the largest group of organized women in the world. Their purpose is to serve God, focusing on women, children, and youth.
The Millbrook UMW unit currently has 40 active, dedicated women. Millbrook’s unit has four circles that meet monthly either in a member’s home or the fellowship hall. Two circles meet during the day and 2 in the evening, which offers times to accommodate the retired and those currently working. Each quarter there is an executive meeting with the elected officers and circle chairs. The following week an open general meeting is held to discuss upcoming events, new projects and concerns.
New officers for 2017 shown at left include: Deborah Boutelier, assistant treasurer; Vilma Lawrence, historian; Diane West, treasurer; Brenda Hargrave, secretary; Carrol Ann Steward, membership & nurture; Gwen Story, political action; Lyndall Barlow, president; Sandie Gaines, vice president; Bonnie Strait, education & interpretation; and Ginny Calloway, historian

United Methodist Men:
The United Methodist Men meet the 2nd Sunday of the month at Noon in the Fellowship Hall. Our service to the church and community are as well as making desciples of Jesus Christ are the main focus of UMM. We participate in church wide clean up and lawn and small maintenance of the church property. We provide meals for VBS and special events during the year. We have coordinated and prepared meals for Christ Café, a ministry in the community to give hot meals to the seniors and those in need in the community. At Thanksgiving, we coordinate and assist in the preparation of a community Thanksgiving meal.
All men of the church are invited to join the UMM. Please consider joining us as we strive to provide aid and offer assistance wherever possible and spread the good news of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ by putting into action that which He has commanded.
Please contact the United Methodist Men's President Will Bacon at 334-730-8118 if you need further information about the UMM.
