Sermon Series During Lent

When Hurts Help

"Can God still use me?" It is a question most of us have asked at some point. Each of us have fallen short of perfection and it is tempting that we are "unsaveable" because of our failures, or even our fatigue. We presume that God would choose to use the most gifted, handsome, athletic, victorious, and intelligent people for its purposes, But that's not God's way. Your legacy awaits, but it depends on your ability to walk with a limp and allow your hurts to help.

You Need to Know:

The first church council meeting for 2018 will be held on Tuesday, February 13th from 6:00 pm until 7:30 in the Fellowship Hall. If you have any items that you would like brought before the Council, please contact Cala Obenauf at or 334-430-1261 at least 1 week prior to the meeting.

Congregational Meeting to follow the Church Council meeting @ 7:00 pm to discuss church times changes:

After many months of asking God to lead us and gathering input from the Congregation, the Worship Committee, Staff, and talking with other churches, the Discernment Committee is ready to make a proposal regarding the Church times changes. It is only a proposal. On February 22nd at a special called meeting, the Administrative Council will ultimately discern where God is leading us. The end point of these meetings is to understand the will of God for FUMC at this time and place. We want you to be a part of this discernment process so we invite you to come to one of the gatherings listed below, to do three things:

1. To hear the proposal and to understand why and how the Discernment Committee came to their decision.

2. To share with us the impact the proposal might have and offer suggestions.

3. And last but not least, to pray with us as we seek the will of God as we move forward together.
